A quote a day keeps the Blues away

'We live in an insane world, with insane people and insane things and insane events. But if everyone's insane, is anyone really insane?'

Day 1: 'Nonsensical me'

Have you ever woken up at 4 PM and still felt tired?
Yeah, happened with me today. I honestly had no idea I could sleep THAT long :/

Anyway, I spent this entire day reading 75% of Mark Twain's 'The adventures of Tom Sawyer' and it's definitely one of those books I'd advise you youngsters out there to read. It's a Classic and what's more, it's the prequel to the popular 'The adventures of Huckleberry Finn'.

It's all about this boy Tom and his friends Joe and Huck (yes, Huckleberry Finn) and how the lives of young boys are. I'd say my favorite part is when Tom and Huck save Muff Potter.
I'll leave it to your imagination as to how they saved him :P I'm sure book lovers love this book ^___^
And, trust me, those who haven't read won't regret reading it - that is if they plan on reading it otherwise they're going to regret it and- Okay, now I'm rambling :P

Moving on.

I'm so, very, truly happy for three of my friends. They got distinctions! :D
Two of them got distinctions in the region and one of them got a distinction in the WORLD! ^____^
Yes, we're talking about the WORLD here, out of so many million people! O.O

Yaddy yaddy yaddy yappity yappity yayy!
^ once again, please ignore the gibberish above.

That reminds me, in these vacations, my friends made me watch this old movie, which I thought would be really boring and sad and lame and lovey-dovey, but it turned out to be one heck of a movie.
Which movie am I talking about? I'd like to keep you in the darkness for a while :P Yes, I'm that cruel, thank you.

It's this movie about a girl, who wishes nothing more than to 'sit in a chair and eat chocolates' all day long. 'Ahh, so loverly' ;)
And if you're still trying to guess, I think it'd be better if you stop now. I'm talking about 'My fair lady'.

I only have one word for this movie: Epic.
Okay, well, one word isn't enough for epic movies like these, I know -____-

I just absolutely frickin' LOVE Professor Higgins. With his love for the English language and his aristocratic ways, he's an ideal gentleman (yes, he can be a bit stubborn, but hey, that adds to the appeal, no ;) *wolf whistle*)
He reminds me of this English language teacher I had back in high school (names will not be mentioned in order to ensure the privacy of the individual :P Wow, I sound like some tv commercial lady)
Back then, I used to hate my teacher, he really gave me a hard time, though I was one of his best students. But now I come to think of it, he indeed was an inspiration and always will be. Long live... errr... my English language teacher ^___^
What was I saying again? Oh yeah, Professor Higginsss <3

I say, the actor did a pretty neat job too, no? Who was it again... Oh yeah! Rex Harrison.

I salute him, he did a great job. I don't know about you guys but I adored the first song. That poem-ish song 'Why can't the English?' Let see if I can find the lyrics.

WHY CAN'T THE ENGLISH?
From "My Fair Lady"
(Alan Jay Lerner / Frederick Loewe)

Rex Harrison - 1956

Harrison: Look at her, a prisoner of the gutters,
Condemned by every syllable she utters.
By right she should be taken out and hung,
For the cold-blooded murder of the English
tongue.

(Aaoww!) Heavens, what a sound!
This is what the English population,
Calls an elementary education.

Bystander: Come sir, I think you've picked a poor
example.

Harrison: Did I?
Hear them down in Soho Square,
Dropping "H's" everywhere,
Speaking any way they like.
You sir, did you go to school?

Bystander: Whatta tyke me for, a fool?

Harrison: No one taught him "take" instead of "tyke".
Hear a Yorkshireman, or worse,
Hear a Cornishman converse.
I'd rather hear a choir singing flat.
Just like this one.
(Garn!)
I ask you sir, what sort of word is that?

It's Aaoow and Garn that keep her in her place
Not her wretched clothes and dirty face.
Why can't the English teach their children
how to speak.
This verbal class distinction by now should
be antique.
If you spoke sir, instead of the way you do,
Why you might be selling flowers too.

Bystander: I beg your pardon.

Harrison: An Englishman's way of speaking absolutely
classifies him.
The moment he talks he makes some other
Englishman despise him.
One common language I'm afraid we'll never get.
Oh why can't the English learn to set a good
example to people who's English is painful to
your ears?

The Scotch and the Irish leave you close to
tears.
There are even places where English completely
disappears.
Well, in America they haven't used it for
years.

Why can't the English teach their children how
to speak?
Norwegians learn Norwegian, the Greeks are
taught their Greek.
In France every Frenchman knows his language
from A to Zed.
The French don't care what they do, actually,
As long as they pronounce properly.
Arabians learn Arabian with the speed of
summer lightning,
And Hebrews learn it backward which is
absolutely frighening.

If you use proper English you're regarded as
a freak.
Oh why can't the English, why can't the
English learn to speak!

I'd say you should listen to it too. I know I would :P
And then there's Eliza Doolittle, a flower girl. And she's played by the lovely Audrey Hepburn.
I envy her >.<

She's beautiful and great on-stage too. Before Professor Higgins transforms her into a sophisticated lady, she's stubborn and hard-working too ^___^

And when she transforms, she's just... *drools* O.O
'My fair lady' will take you on a journey of when England was 'gentleman-ly and lady-like'.

Speaking of gentleman-ly, Allan Quatermain is a full package: heroic and gentleman-ly, not to mention tough and not scared of a fight. And he also has this great luck of getting out of any sticky situation without more than a scratch (or maybe more :P But that's not the point, he still get's out of those situations alive -_____- I know I never would)

Anyway, yes, Allan Quatermain, the hero. I say, the actor who plays him ain't bad either :P

Richard Chamberlain <3

He starred in 'Allan Quatermain and the lost city of gold' and 'King Solomon's mines', both these movies are worth watching. And honestly, if you have a knack of getting stuck in sticky, life-threatening situations, you HAVE to contact this guy, he'll give you great pointers ;) (Okay, honestly? I can't believe I sound like all those people who try to appear cool and aren't really cool :/ That sucks big time :/)

Since we've gone back to the 50's and 60's era, why not discuss that horror movie?
'Psycho' ^____^
It wouldn't be called exaggerating if I call this movie 'The father of all horror movies', okay I know many of you will disagree to this statement and may have other movies in mind, but since it's my blog, my rules, let's go with what I think :P

I mean, seriously, which cold-hearted murderer ever had the audacity to dress up as his own mother and kill innocent people?

The lady he killed first wasn't so innocent, I know
-____- But the way he killed her in the shower was too brutal ;__; And she was so young and full of life :'(

And if the murderer was to come in front of you, you wouldn't even believe he's a murderer, here's a picture to show you how innocent he looks.

Okay, this picture doesn't help at all -_____- And he just looks like a creep.

Gosh, where did I start from and I ended up on 'Psycho'. I'm losing it. I'm crazy :O
But surely not more than this other guy I know...

THE MASK :D

Crazy as they come, this guy is one sick dude. And by sick I mean 'wicked', 'awesome' etc etc. And to top it all, it's all nostalgic for me. *sniff sniff*
Anyway, I reminisce when I used to buy masks from toy shops and try them on, hoping to turn into this mad man. But, obviously, I was left disappointed, but I never lost hope. Until eventually I was old enough to figure out none of this is r-r-real ;____; *bawls*

Okay, I guess this is it for right now, folks. *theme song*
^ don't I sound like that ending of 'Looney Tunes'? :P

Before I start on 'Looney Tunes' now -____- Mum's calling me for dinner, have to cut short.
Take Care, guys!
Cheerio.

Let's see now...
Day 1 post: Check :D

Wednesday 28 December 2011

First blog. Oh joy -__-

Okay, first, just ignore the name. It's the most random thing I could think of, and hey, that's how I am: random!
I guess the title just makes the person think how this blog is concerning art and since the owner's name is 'The Artist' that just proves it.
'Blotches of paint' is concerning art and not concerning art.
Confused yet? I know I'm not.
The 'not concerning art' part means it's not a blog where the owner teaches you how to paint and sketch and draw and other cool artsy stuff (I haven't reached that 'level' yet).
And the 'concerning art' part means, it's going to be a small canvas on which I'll paint scenes of every day life for people who're interested - and those who're not interested (yes, yes, I can see you scoffing).

And even if nobody reads it, it's okay, it'll be my personal log... I guess :/
Are personal logs any fun if people don't read them? I guess I'll find out soon enough.

I wonder how it feels when people comment and ask and give their opinion about a certain event which occurred in your life. I guess it'll help me (as well as you)

Yaddy yaddy yaddy yappity yappity yaay!
^ Ignore the gibberish above.
Wow. It's 4:36 AM and I still can't sleep. I can't believe I just made my first blog due to my insomniac nature.I wonder if I sleep now, how will I ever wake up in the morning. But no worries, it's a day off YAYY! ^______^

I wonder if I look like this right now :/
Gosh, how many times have I said 'I wonder' while typing this? :/ If I don't stop, I might end up being the next 'Thinker'. Okay, I believe that was not ever funny, sorry.

I thinks it's all Facebook's fault I'm awake right now -_____- Stoopid Facebook -_____-
Just saw a friend's status. And I liked it. Wonder what you people think.
Shoot, I said the wonder word again, didn't I? Well, let's make it a rule now: No more use of 'wonder' in this blog post should be seen!

Friend's status: 'no matter how good you look, how smart you are or how much money you make.. if you come home to a family that isn't proud of you, you have failed.'

And with that note, I bid you good bye *solemn look*
^ okay, that sounded like some butler from a cheesy 50's movie.
Cheerio.

Right, so let's see...
First blog intro: Check :D
